Authorities are hopeful that they will finally shed light on what truly happened to Christine Angelica Dacera. On January 1, the lifeless body of the 23-year-old flight attendant was found in a bathtub in a Makati hotel room. Right from the start, authorities and Dacera’s family suspected foul play. During the time of her passing, Dacera celebrated New Year’s eve with her friends at City Garden Grand Hotel.
Instead of swabbing her body for evidence, the first medical coroner immediately embalmed Dacera’s body, therefore destroying possible evidence. On the day of her burial on January 10, the National Bureau of Investigation has once again swabbed Dacera’s body, hopeful to find any shred of evidence that may point out to her true cause of death.

In an interview, Atty. Ferdinand Lavin, Deputy Director of National Bureau of Investigation, claimed that finding samples on Dacera’s body was impressive, given the fact that she was already embalmed twice.
“There was contamination, considering the embalming procedures done on her. Despite all the odds, may mga encouraging leads kami, 80%. Makakatulong ito sa investigation. Rest assured the public that we have very encouraging leads, evidence. Believe me, makikita dito kung may lapses doon sa una,” says Lavin.
In addition to that, Lavin also claimed that there’s a big possibility that crime was involved. They were not ruling out foul play, especially since a witness told in an affidavit that some persons on Room 2207, which is adjacent to Dacera’s room, brought ‘powder drugs.’
Law enforcement authorities are now hunting a certain Mark Anthony Rosales, who was allegedly one of the guests in Room 2207. Hours before she passed away, Dacera told one of her friends that Mark had slipped something into her drink, and after that she felt ill.
