After a decade of being a Kapuso, the 31-year-old actress is officially a Kapamilya after transferring to ABS-CBN.
This transfer surprised many fans, as they were not expecting that Janine will be transferring to the Kapamilya network amid ABS-CBN shutdown.
She announced this news on social media last January 15. Janine shared a photo during her contract signing, along with the caption: “Hello Kapamilya!”

During Janine’s contract signing, the big names of the network were present, including ABS-CBN group financial officer Rick Tan, chief operating officer of broadcast and head of Creative Programs, Inc. Cory Vidanes, president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, chairman Mark Lopez, Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal, and her manager Leo Dominguez.
Meanwhile, many Kapamilya stars gave a warm welcome to Janine. On Instagram, her fellow celebrities reached out and congratulated her for joining the Kapamilya family, which has been dwindling in numbers ever since the ABS-CBN shutdown last year.
Among those who commented on her IG post are Angelica Panganiban, Enchong Dee, Iza Calzado, and her aunt, Ruffa Gutierrez.
On the other hand, many fans saw Janine’s transfer as a long-overdue smart move. After all, her career seems to be stale in the Kapuso network, even after several series and movies.
Some fans claimed that Janine will finally explore her full potential in ABS-CBN. Fans are also looking forward to Janine’s future projects in the Kapamilya network.
