Despite the easing restrictions, the COVID-19 pandemic is still very much active. No matter how careful you are, a simple mistake or carelessness of others can land you in the hospital. It only takes on person to pass the virus along to others unknowingly. Earlier this week, social media influencer Jelai Andres reported that she tested positive for the COVID-19, along with the rest of her family.
As you may well know, for the past few weeks, Jelai has been in a lockdown taping for an upcoming series. They take all precautions to make sure that the staff and actors are safe from COVID-19.
But prior to this, Jelai revealed that her entire family tested positive for coronavirus way back in October. In her latest vlog, Jelai revealed the cause of the transmission.

“Isa sa pinaka, pinaka, kinakatakot ko mangyari sa ‘min at ‘di niyo alam ‘di ko na-share: nagka-COVID po kaming lahat. Positive lahat ng kasama namin dito sa bahay. May ka-work siya na nag-positive. Hanggang sa yun, na-positive na kaming lahat. Dun nalaman na nakuha sa cousin ko,” says Jelai.
Among all of her family members, Jelai had the worst symptoms. In order to avoid further transmission, she was isolated from the rest of her family.
Fortunately, they were able to recover quickly from the disease. Soon after, Jelai sent her mother and father to live in a separate house for their own safety and security.
She also learned a valuable lesson amid these hard times. According to Jelai, she is grateful that her family did not suffer from lasting effects of the virus.
“Mahalin po natin ang mga family natin. Ingatan po natin sarili natin. Bakit ako umiiyak? Ang saya ko kasi nakasama ko ‘yung family ko ngayong holiday. Sobrang thankful ako kasi nalagpasan natin ‘yung mga ganung pangyayari, ‘yung mga trials sa life natin. Masaya ako kasi nag-Christmas kami nitong nakaraan na magkakasama,” shared Jelai.
