Earlier this week, Philippine Entertainment Portal reported that Claudine Barretto’s home in Marikina City is experiencing a blackout. According to the report, it was possible that Claudine’s electricity line was cut off from Meralco. This information apparently came from Claudine’s dear friend, Atty. Topacio. But in a recent interview, the actress has clarified what truly happened in their home, and it’s far from everyone’s expectations.
Claudine clarified that their electricity connection was not disconnected due to payment reasons. According to Claudine, they intentionally disconnected their electrical lines all over the house as a hazard.
During the Typhoon Ulysses, some parts of Claudine’s home was submerged in water, which is why she decided to purposely turn off the electrical wirings in their house.
“So ang ibang bahay, may ilaw. So ang akala niya, naputulan. Ang nangyari talaga dun, hanggang ngayon, ang circuit breaker, yung main switch kailangan patayin dahil may tubig,” shares Claudine.
Apparently, Atty. Topacio must’ve had misunderstood the situation. He thought that Claudine’s house was disconnected by Meralco, because her entire neighborhood have electricity. So in her interview, Claudine finally clarified the situation.
For the meantime, while they were waiting for everything else to get back to normal, Claudine and her kids had to stay elsewhere.
According to the former actress, they had to book several hotel rooms to accommodate their big family. Some of them also stayed in the condo unit of Claudine’s mother.
