Amid the pandemic, millions of students in the Philippines are struggling in coping up with online classes. Even teachers are also doing double work to make sure that their students can catch up to the lessons. Among them is Teacher Velcher Castillo, who shared his inspirational story on Facebook to inspire others amid this pandemic.
According to Castillo, he asked his class to draw for their assignment. One of his students submitted the assignment and wrote a note saying he doesn’t have crayons.
Instead of scolding him for the incomplete assignment, Castillo brought him a pack of crayons along with a heartwarming message.

“This work from one of my students caught my attention. ‘Sir wala po akong pambili ng krayola sorry po.’ Don’t be sorry, nak. I understand you. Here’s a box of crayons for you. Keep up the good work! See you when this pandemic finally ends! God bless and stay safe,” wrote the teacher.
He also penned an inspirational message to every students and teachers who are working hard amid the pandemic. According to Castillo, every effort, no matter how small or inconsequential, is valid and appreciated. He also encouraged students to keep up the good work.

“Para sa bawat estudyante, isang mahigpit na yakap. Kapit lang. Laban lang. Tuloy lang. Magkikita kita muli tayo. Know that your efforts are valid and appreciated. Kahit na at kahit pa,” wrote Castillo on Facebook.
On the other hand, as expected, Castillo’s post immediately garnered reactions on social media. As of writing, the viral post already reached 40,000 shares on Facebook alone.
