In her latest vlog, Alex Gonzaga revealed that she and her family tested positive for COVID-19. The Kapatid actress explained that this is the reason why she’s not appearing in the noontime show “Lunch Out Loud.” Alex couldn’t help but turn emotional while revealing that several of her family members were positive too.
“Maraming nagtatanong sa akin kung bakit di pa ko lumalabas sa Lunch Out Loud. Hindi po ako nagpapakita sa show kasi nagka-COVID po ako and thank God ako ay naka-survive. Actually the whole family,” says Alex.

Pinty and Bonoy Gonzaga, Alex’s parents, were asymptomatic. Alex, her fiancee, and her assistant experienced only mild symptoms such as loss of taste, sore throat, fatigue, and clogged nose. Fortunately, none of them were in a critical condition.
“I’ve been sharing all the highs of my life. I shared with you our Christmas together, our new year, my engagement. But it is also nice if I could share with you the lows,” Alex shared.
According to Alex, this unexpected chain of events also caused delay in their wedding plans. Alex and her fiancee, Mikee Morada, is set to tie the knot in a few months.
Even though she’s frustrated with the delay, Alex is willing to change their plans for the sake of their family and friends’ safety.
“Gusto ko ikasal ngayon kasama ‘yung family, konting friends pero dahil sa walang kakwenta-kwentang bagay, nakuha namin COVID.”
On the bright side, all of them have finally recovered from COVID-19 without any complications. Many fans on social media also expressed their prayers and support for Alex and her family through this tough time.
