Xyriel Manabat, May Resbak sa mga Bashers na Pinuna ang Kanyang 'Revealing' Selfies

Indeed, time flies so fast! It seems as if it was only yesterday when former child star Xyriel Manabat was a familiar face in television. Back in the days, Xyriel was known for her iconic roles in many movies and soap operas in the Kapamilya network. She became well-loved for her charm and acting skills. Today, far from her child-like role in TV, Xyriel Manabat is already all grown up.

True to her bold character in “100 Days to Heaven,” Xyriel is never afraid to speak up her mind. As a matter of fact, she openly defends herself from some bashers who are criticizing her on social media. Earlier this week, the young actress received unsavory remarks from some netizens because of the day she dress.

A netizen commented on her photo and criticized the way Xyriel dressed: “Kaya nmn pla nbabastos kc nmn show off nya pa boobs nya sa mga pix nya.”

“Kaya po pala may mga nambabastos, may mga nangungunsinti po na ang biktima ang mag-aadjust hindi ang utak manyak ng mga bastos. God bless po praying for you to be enlightened po and stop victim blaming po. God bless po hope you never experience any of sexualizing and sexual harrassment, praying for you po,” responded Xyriel to her basher.

In a separate comment, the former child star also claimed that she’s not ‘flattered’ with some of the comments she’s getting on social media. Even though she’s wearing a t-shirt or just a simple blouse, some netizens are still poking fun at how she dress.

According to Xyriel, this type on mentality perpetuates victim blaming and harassment: “Hindi po ako nafa-flatter sa ibang comments kasi ‘yung iba po below the belt. And sana alam nila, and aware po yung mga tao na s*xual harassment is never OK po. Hindi po siya fine.”

Xyriel had her ultimate break in the showbiz business when she was featured in ABS-CBN’s iconic TV shows like “Agua Bendita,” “Momay,” and “100 Days to Heaven.” However, despite her flourishing career, Xyriel decided to take a break from showbiz and pursue a different path in life.

The young Kapamilya star took a break from acting to pay more attention to her education. It was only this year when she graduated from high school.
