On September 26, actor Robin Padilla announced a sad news to his fans. The action star, his wife Mariel Rodriguez, and other members of their household tested positive for coronavirus. According to Robin, even their young daughters, Isabella and Gabriella, were not spared from this highly-communicable disease. Robin announced this on Instagram.
“Walang pinipili ang sakit kaya mag iingat po tayo in shaa Allah. Napakabilis ng pagkalat ng Flu virus. Nag umpisa sa baradong ilong ko at pa isa isang ubo na lumipat kay isabela at nailipat naman nya sa mama niya, kapatid nya at ninang Analyn,” says Robin, explaining how the virus was transmitted in their home.

Fortunately, none of the family members who were infected were showing severe symptoms of the virus. According to Robin, after finding out that one of them tested positive, they immediately took steps to prevent other household members from getting the virus as well.
In a video shared on Instagram, Robin shared that all of them were swabbed in the house. Their second daughter, Gabriela, suffered from a mild fever. Robin, on the other hand, had to endure a mild runny nose while staying isolated from others.
“Alhamdulillah naagapan ang pagkalat sa mga ibang kasamahan dahil sa kagyat na pag quarantine sa aming may mga flu at ang pagkarga ng vitamin c ng lahat ng mga nasa bahay at ang pagsaksak ng flu vaccine sa mga hindi carrier,” wrote Robin on Instagram.
Even though Mariel herself tested positive for COVID-19, she still managed to take care of their family well. According to Robin, he is thankful to for his wife’s hard work and care for them amid this testing time.
