After claiming that Julia Barretto is pregnant, Jay Sonza is now retracting his statement following outrage online. In a follow-up statement, the former Kapamilya journalist said that he is taking back his congratulations to Julia and Gerald. Earlier this week, Sonza claimed that the young actress is pregnant with Gerald’s child amid their pandemic love affair.
“May umamin kasi kaya nagalak ako. Kung ganoon po, binabawi ko ang aking masayang pagbati. Happy and excited kasi ako kapag may nabibiyayaan ng buhay. Pasensya na kung napaaga ang aking congratulations. Itatabi ko na lang muna iyong regalo sa kanila,” wrote Sonza on Facebook.

Some of his friends and fans on Facebook stood by Sonza’s first statement. According to them, Sonza is known for having reliable ‘ears and eyes’ in the showbiz industry.
They still believe that the actress is indeed pregnant, and only time can tell if that is truly the case. On the other hand, in spite of his public apology, some fans think that it’s time to teach Jay Sonza a lesson.
Due to his false rumors, Julia and Gerald’s reputation and career might be tarnished. Because of this, some netizens are urging the young actress to file legal actions against the former journalist for defaming her on social media.
