Being a Filipino Overseas Worker (OFW) is no joke. You risk many factors including your mental, emotional and physical health. We all know that being employed abroad especially if you are a domestic helper (DH) is extra hard because of the workload. And sadly, what you earn is still not enough to sustain your family and their needs.
Perhaps the notion of other Filipinos that when a certain fellow goes outside of the country, he will be immediately rich the moment he comes back home. Plus the way they thought that the necessities and other products there is not as expensive is what we have here is also unbearable.
They make it look like working abroad is actually an honor and a pleasure, disregarding your loneliness and the depression you may have gone through because of the foreign environment you are in.
That is why we can never blame this certain OFW named Lynne Cherrie show shared a sad yet annoying story of how she cut off her long time friend just because of her pettiness.
Lynne posted on her social media account photos of the conversation of her one friend who was asking for a “pasalubong” and instead of letting the former decide what to bring her, the latter shamelessly requested for a Gucci bag.
She explained that what her friend wanted to happen is totally absurd but then instead of saying sorry, her so called “mare” even demanded for a shoes instead if Lynne could not give her any branded bag.
Insulted and deeply offended, Lynne was even more shocked when her friend even felt the audacity to act mad after being denied for her demands! How crazy!
Lynne even got blocked by this friend! So she decided to share the story on everyone else to remind them that is truly okay to say no to your relatives and friends’ requests for pasalubong, especially if its something really expensive.
