Earlier this week, Janella Salvador became a trending topic on social media after posting a video online. In the video, Janella can be seen bonding with her boyfriend, Markus Paterson. The celebrity couple is currently spending the holidays in the United Kingdom. Some netizens noticed that the 23-year-old actress has gained weight these past few months.
Many critics commented about Janella’s body weight on Instagram and Twitter. Some are saying that the extra pounds can be attributed to Janella’s pregnancy.
As you may well remember, it was way back in October when Janella allegedly gave birth to her first baby with Markus, but both parties are yet to comment on this issue.
Janella, who has been known for being vocal on social media, addressed her critics. She described Pinoys as the ‘worst body shamers,’ especially those who have been criticizing her for her weight gain. She also told her haters to leave her alone to enjoy the holidays in peace.
“Filipinos are the worst body shamers. Let me enjoy my Christmas pudding in peace. Happy holidays to you too,” Janella wrote on Twitter.
But it seems like not all people were happy with the actress’ straightforward answer. Some critics retaliated on social media and called the actress ‘pikon.’
According to them, Janella’s hatred towards the critics is uncalled for. After all, she’s a public figure working in the showbiz industry. That being said, she’s always under the prying eyes of the public and she can’t control what the netizens will say about her.
On the other hand, until now, many fans are still excited to finally get a glimpse of Janella’s baby. According to some showbiz insiders, Janella gave birth way back in October 2020. Since then, the actress and her family has stayed in the UK.
