These days, online shopping has never been easier. Online shopping platforms like Shopee and Lazada provide a swift service for everything you need. However, as popular and widespread as they are, these online shopping apps also have some downfalls. Earlier this week, Raffy Tulfo addressed some of them.
During his program “Wanted sa Radyo,” Raffy Tulfo sent out a warning to these two leading online shopping platforms in the Philippines. According to Tulfo, he has been aware of some discrepancies that are happening in the apps for quite some time now.

As you may well know, Tulfo started out his own merchandise line, “Tulfo and Chill,” which includes t-shirts and hoodies. However, the TV 5 news anchor faced a lot of troubles when some people copied his merchandise and started selling it on Shopee and Lazada.
The clothing sold on these apps contain Tulfo’s trademarked “Tulfo and Chill.” And since the sellers have no distribution rights, that makes their goods counterfeit. According to Tulfo, he already addressed this to Shopee and Lazada, but they are yet to take serious actions.
“Matigas po ang ulo ng Shopee at Lazada. Continue pa rin po ng pagbebenta ng mga fake na gamot, fake na mga merchandise. Wala silang pakialam. Ang pakialam lang po ng Shopee at Lazada is kumita nang kumita. Wala silang proper screening,” said the anchor.
Furthermore, he also asked the two e-commerce platforms to be more strict in the products that they approve to be sold on the platform. This will not only remove counterfeit products, but it will also ensure that customers will not be buying fake goods.
