Ilo-ilo’s bet Rabiya Mateo is the first-ever crowned beauty queen of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 during its first launch. The Ilongga beauty was hailed as the winner in the recent coronation night that made headlines all over the country. Aside from competing for Miss Universe, many more prestigious prizes await Rabiya!
Miss Universe Philippines organization went all out with the prizes. Since this is their first major event, the winners were also expected to take home generous compensations. But the most talked-about prize is the bedazzled Filipina crown designed by Villarica Pawnshop.

The silver crown is embedded with golden South sea pearls. To represent the Philippine flag, it was also adorned with sapphire, ruby, and topaz which “embody the flag for the most phenomenal woman.” The crown is valued at P5 million.
Mateo will also be taking home a generous monetary prize. According to the Miss Universe Philippines organization, their cash prize is the “biggest in the history of Philippine pageantry.”
In 2018, Catriona Gray went home with more than P1.6 million after winning Binibining Pilipinas.
MG Philippines will also be sponsoring a brand new and sleek MG ZS Alpha to the newly-crowned queen.
Of course, this also comes with Matteo’s personal chauffeur. According to MG, they aim to open their products to a wider market through the candidates.
“This partnership with Miss Universe Philippines is the latest on our list of prestigious and extraordinary collaborations. It allows us to introduce our products nationwide to all the cities represented by the candidates.”
Compared to previous pageants, this time, the winner will also be given the keys to her own apartment. To make sure that she will properly fulfill her duties as Miss Universe Philippines, she will also have the help of her personal assistant and personal stylist.
